YEOVIL Town’s amazing run of successive victories came to a halt today when they were held to a 1-1 draw at promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers in the npower League One.Football: Doncaster Rovers 1, Yeovil Town 1

The Glovers had taken an early sixth minute lead when Paddy Madden netted his 18th goal of the season for Yeovil and his 19th overall this season.

Eleven of those have come in Yeovil’s last eight league matches in which he has netted in each of them – a club record.

But Billy Paynter gained Doncaster a share of the spoils when he pulled the home side level in time added-on at the end of the first-half.

Given the fact that Yeovil had won their previous eight npower League One games, the Glovers the will be slightly disappointed that they are not celebrating a ninth this evening.

But a draw at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium is a good result with Doncaster pushing for promotion back to The Championship at the first time of asking.

Statistics show that Doncaster had the majority of the possession but chances at goal – both on and off target – were level-pegging.

The result and others from League One see Yeovil remain in fifth spot on 58 points, while Doncaster are one place and one point above them.

Sheffield United are top on 60 points with SwindonTown in second spot on 59 points.

Tranmere Rovers, who enjoyed a 5-1 success at Colchester United, while AFC Bournemouth slipped to sixth after losing 1-0 at home to new League One leaders Sheffield United.

Next up for Yeovil is an away trip to Colchester on Tuesday (Feb 26) and then they are back at home against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, March 2, at Huish Park – two massive games for Gary Johnson’s side.
