YEOVIL Town moved up to seventh spot in the npower League One table tonight with an excellent 2-1 success over MK Dons.

The Glovers had been without a game since their fantastic 2-0 win at Sheffield United 17 days ago, but they showed no signs of being rusty as they took the game to the visitors in the early stages and took the advantage when Paddy Madden netted to give Yeovil the lead.

But MK Dons were back on level terms against the run of play when Yeovil failed to defend a corner and Antony Kay scored in the 35th minute.

The tables turned for the remainder of the first-half with MK Dons looking dangerous.

But there was controversy in the 63rd minute when Kay was sent off for violent conduct after raising a hand into Madden's face.

And Yeovil made their man-advantage finally count in the 78th minute when Madden netted a second and match-winning goal.

It was Madden's 13th goal since joining the Glovers from rivals Carlisle United, initially on loan, but now as a permanent fixture.

It would appear to be one of the League One 'buys of the season' as Madden's goals have propelled the Glovers to the verge of the play-off spots.

There is a long way to go, but confidence will be building within the Huish Park camp and tonight's result will send out the message to others that the Glovers are serious contenders.

Next up for Yeovil are fellow promotion rivals Brentford who visit Huish Park on Saturday.
