Rugby: Ivel Under-13s 39pts, Midsomer Norton nil

IVEL Barbarians Under-13s  hosted Midsomer Norton on Sunday for the first meeting between the two sides this season.

The Ivel boys arrived up for it and eager to put all their training into practice. The match started fast and furious with initial breaks being made by the home team.

Team work and communication was evident from the whistle as the boys used their drill to give them an advantage over the visitors.

Nathan scored after ten minutes which was duly converted by Archie. With heads held high, and confidence gained, the boys continued to communicate, ensuring a quick second try from Archie, which was unfortunately not converted.

The Ivel boys kept to their position, and provided good support at the break allowing Harry J to place one over MSN line. Archie converted as the half time whistle was blown.

Midsomer Norton started the second half by upping their game, they tried putting on the pressure before Ivel took charge with a superb run by Nathan, followed by slick passing to Liam before Artie made it try number four!

Kyle caught them napping and scored after a straight run from the half way line. The forwards showed their skills and drove the ball forward ensuring that Ivel remained in control. 

Archie again found the line but Milo was unable to convert as the ball hit the post.

Midsomer Norton tried to break in the last few minutes of the match, allowing Ivel to show their defensive skills with a superb clearance off our own try line by Daecha, who followed it up by scoring the last try of the match.

Final score: Ivel Barbarians Under-13s 39pts, Midsomer Norton Under-13s nil.
