Football: Johnson pleased with three points for Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town manager Gary Johnson (pictured) said 'three points were a good three points' even if the performance was not brilliant.

Johnson, speaking to the BBC after yesterday's 2-1 success over Bury at Huish Park in the npower League One, added that it was not easy when Bury were reduced to ten-men following the sending-off of Zac Thompson midway through the first-half.

"Obviously I'm a happy man, as any three points at this level is a good three points,'' he said. ''You can't always play like Barcelona every week. It didn't help us when Bury went down to ten men.

''We were playing alright at the time. Obviously it was a poor tackle, and the lad deserved to get sent off, but at that point you want us to raise it.

''We did for a little while, but then just after half time we let Bury get back into the game, both in their play and in a few opportunities that they had.

''But when they scored, we then suddenly in the last 20 minutes started playing again. We got our goal, which was great, and we saw the game out fairly comfortably."

Yeovil took the lead shortly after Thompson's sending-off through Byron Webster, but Bury pulled level midway through the second-half only for Sam Foley to restore the lead for the Glovers moments later.
