LEISURE: The countdown has started to Yeovil Beer Festival 2016

PREPARATIONS are now well underway on finalising the plans for this weekend’s Yeovil Beer Festival.

The festival is being held on Friday, April 8, 2016, and Saturday, April 9, 2016, in giant marquees being put up at Yeovil Showground.

It will be the fourth annual festival and this one promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The community event is a joint venture between Yeovil Round Table, Lions Club of Yeovil and staff and students of Yeovil College.

A festival spokesman said: “After the fantastic success of the past three years – this annual event has raised in excess of £40,000 for local charities. Over the weekend we are expecting to attract 2,000 local beer enthusiasts.”

There will be more than 80 different beers and 20 ciders to sample, as well as plenty of food refreshments and live music to enjoy.

As the festival spokesman added: “It’s going to be one awesome weekend.”
