CHRISTMAS 2015: Panto mayhem has started at the Octagon!

THE “controlled anarchy” has returned to the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil once again with pantomime now taking to the stage over the festive season.

The opening performance of Sleeping Beauty was last night (Friday, December 4, 2015) – the first of 49 fun-filled shows which will run at the Octagon until Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Tickets have been selling like hot cakes as Evolution Pantomimes, led by Emily Wood and Paul Hendy, look forward to transfix the Octagon audiences once more.

Paul said: “We are very excited to be working with the Octagon team and look forward to sharing our spectacular production of Sleeping Beauty with you.”

While audiences might think that pantomime is all about mayhem and on-stage hilarity – there is a certain seriousness to proceedings.

Panto dame Sam Rabone, who will be playing Nurse Nellie, said pantomime was very much like an “upside down swan” – madness on the surface, but calm underneath.

Co-producer Emily Wood has described pantomime as “controlled anarchy” meaning that it might seem complete madness on the stage, but it is organised!

To book your tickets call the Box Office on 01935-422884 or visit www.octagon-theatre.co.uk or pop into the Octagon Theatre.
