CRICKET: Ilminster make it a league double over rivals Chard
ILMINSTER made it a league “double” over their arch rivals Chard with a commanding 84-run win on Saturday (July 12, 2014).
Ilminster won the toss and elected to bat and they amassed 254-8 from their 50 overs with Louis Kraucamp (56) and Jonny Warry (42) giving them a solid start before they both fell to bowler Kieron Boucher.
Further runs were added by Matt Davis (51) and Ian Masters (30).
Chris Scott was Chard's top bowler with 4-53.
Chard never really got going in reply despite 24 from number three Reid Mawdsley and 22 from Scott Wells-Burr.
A decent knock of 55 by number eight Chris Scott gave Chard’s score some respectability.
But Chard were eventually dismissed for 170 inside 39 overs.
James Thompson claimed 3-27 while there were two wickets apiece for Harry Montacute, Richard Elswood and Matt Davis. The other wicket was taken by Louis Kraucamp.
