SOMERSET NEWS: Dolly Parton to perform at Glasto!
LEGENDARY American country music singer Dolly Parton has confirmed today (Thursday, February 27, 2014) that she will be playing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
The singer, speaking on social networking site Twitter, said: “I’m incredibly excited to FINALLY announce that the #BlueSmokeWorldTour is coming to @GlastoFest on June 29! Stay tuned for more info.”
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis tweeted: “We are delighted to say that Dolly is coming – it really doesn’t get much better than this!”
The 68-year-old singer-songwriter is the most honoured female country performer of all-time and has had 25 songs reach number one on the US Billboard Country charts.
