Holy Mary! Sister Act next on agenda for Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society

MEMBERS of the Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society might be putting their feet up today (Sunday, October 13, 2013) on a “job well done” – but they won’t be resting for long.

The YAOS completed their latest production of Guys and Dolls last night (Saturday, October 12, 2013) at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.Holy Mary! Sister Act next on agenda for Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society

Now the society’s thoughts will soon be turning to its next show – Sister Act.

The divine musical – based on the smash hit 1992 movie of the same name starring Whoopi Goldberg (pictured right) – will be performed at the Octagon Theatre from March 11-22, 2014. The film centres around a singer who has been put under protective custody in a convent and has to pretend to be a nun when a mob boss puts her on his hit list.

Now YAOS will be bringing the stage version to life and it will be, without question, a show not to be missed.

Back in 2011, YAOS performed the ever-popular Sound of Music at the Octagon with rave reviews.

The stars of the show were, without question, the nuns from the convent and now they look as if they will be back with a show of their very own!

But for the time being members of the YAOS can congratulate themselves on their production of Guys and Dolls.
