Hockey: Junior Camp at Yeovil Recreation Centre

A BRAND new Junior Hockey Camp will be held at Yeovil Recreation Centre during the October half-term holiday.

This first Junior Hockey Camp – which will take place at the Artificial Turf Pitch at Yeovil Recreation Centre – is just one of a number of activities being organised by the new community hockey coach, Keith Walters.

Keith said: “Locally, the popularity of hockey is at an all-time high, especially since Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club moved to the new pitch in Yeovil.

"We have already had hundreds of young people enjoy the sport on this new surface and this camp will aim to build on the excitement around hockey by offering young people of all abilities the opportunity to learn and improve their skills."

South Somerset District Council's senior sport and healthy lifestyles officer, Jake Hannis, said the hockey camp could be great opportunity for young players to develop and improve their skills.
