Matt has the X Factor!

SOUTH Somerset singer Matt Cahill has the X Factor – that is official!

TV viewers of the hit music contest tonight (Sunday, October 6, 2013) saw Matt, 24, a former student of Holyrood Academy in Chard, gain a place in the live shows as part of the boy band Kingsland Road.

The former Chard Town footballer and his four fellow band members were overcome with emotion when mentor Gary Barlow, of Take That fame, told them that he was taking them through to the live shows of X Factor.

Now Kingsland Road will do battle with 11 other acts to see who is crowned X Factor champion for 2013.

The live shows of X Factor start on Saturday (October 12, 2013).

Gary Barlow said: “One of the things I like about this band is the personality; it’s literally leaping off the stage – there is so much for people to fall in love with.

“I get a twang when I see these guys. It takes me back 23 years (in reference to when Take That first started out in pop industry).”

Kingsland Road are already been tipped as the next big boy band and follow on in the footsteps of former X Factor finalists One Direction.
