Ilminster Carnival 2013 TONIGHT!

ORGANISERS of tonight’s (Saturday, October 5) Ilminster Carnival will be keeping their fingers firmly-crossed that the rain clouds stay away.

The procession is expected to start at 7.15pm from Bay Hill and will make its way around the town before dispersing at the Station Road roundabout by Brakes Garage.

The route will be thronged with thousands of people wanting to watch the procession of illuminated carts, colourful masqueraders and impressive majorettes.

The procession will head off from Bay Hill and move into East Street and Silver Street before moving into West Street and then heading down Station Road towards the finish.

People visiting Ilminster need to be warned that roads will be closed to traffic ahead of the Carnival.

Among the highlights will be the big two Ilminster clubs - Harlequin CC and Gemini CC. Gemini CC won last year's Carnival with Starlight Express.
