Music festival at Red House for Piers Simon Appeal

FUNDS for the Piers Simon Appeal and its School in a Bag initiative will be boosted by a music festival at the Red House in Yeovil.

Piers Simon, 33, of Chilthorne Domer, a former Yeovil College student, was killed in the Asian tsunami of Boxing Day 2004 while holidaying in Thailand.Music festival at Red House for Piers Simon Appeal

Since then his family have raised thousands of pounds to help with projects in areas around the globe hit by natural disaster, while its spin-off School in a Bag initiative has seen thousands of children around the world receive a school bag containing vital everyday equipment.

Now the team at the Red House in Dorchester Road on the outskirts of Yeovil are going to be doing their bit for the cause and helping to spread awareness of the charity.

The Red House will host a music festival on Saturday, August 31, from 2pm until midnight with a number of bands headlined by Crimson On Silver and Smoking Gun.

Earlier in the day people will be able to enjoy live music from acts Road Kill Sundae, Nobody’s Heroes, KirA, GTWO and Dan Hamilton.

Tickets are priced £10 for adults and £5 for children with all the music in a giant marquee.
