Preston students thanked by Take Art
STUDENTS at Preston School have been congratulated for the way they welcomed the award-winning CountryBoy’s Struggle show to Yeovil.
CountryBoy’s Struggle is a unique solo show – written and performed by Maxwell Golden from Contact Theatre in Manchester.
The story he tells is about Michael who wanted to be a rap star, but growing up in Cornwall he did not think he would get a chance to break into the music industry.
But he set off to London to become an MC.
This is a fast and funny story, mixing hip hop dance, poetry and physical theatre.

A group of Preston School Year Ten students worked with Take Art to form a young promoters group to help market the exciting once-in-a-lifetime event in their school.
Students and teachers were delighted with the success of the project.
And Sarah Peterkin, director of Take Art, said: ‘’It has been a privilege to work with the Preston students to promote this show in their school.‘’
The performance at Preston School – held at the end of term before the Easter holiday – marked the finale of a 60-date national tour of CountryBoy’s struggle to schools and rural venues across the UK.
