Charity day for SSAFA at Royal Standard
A MUSIC charity event will be held at the Royal Standard pub in Yeovil TODAY (Sunday, Feb 24) to raise funds for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association charity.
The musical fun will start at the pub in Larkhill Road at 1pm with talented local singer Marcus Sangiovanni.
The entertainment will continue throughout the day with various singers - all of whom will be giving up their time to help the SSAFA charity which provides support for those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and their families.
The charity is committed to providing a lifetime of support to anyone who has ever served. Each year the organisation's trained staff and network of 7,500 volunteers provide practical support and assistance to more than 50,000 people - from D-Day veterans to young soldiers wounded in Afghanistan.
The Royal Standard will hold its usual Sunday Meat Draw, while there will also be a barbecue, raffle and sponsored leg wax.
Andrew MacNewman will be appearing during the evening from around 8pm with his Elvis tribute act and the music will go until closing time.
No tickets are required - just go along and support the Royal Standard and SSAFA.
