SCHOOL NEWS: Dancing fun for pupils

HOLYROOD Academy in Chard linked up with the Kelly Leigh School of Dance last week to hold a dance event for local primary schools.

Pupils spent a session at Kelly Leigh’s purpose built studio in Chard on Tuesday (January 26, 2016) and were taught a routine by Miss Kelly herself, prior to a dance-off competition.

Forty pupils learnt a dance, practiced it and then performed it in front of watching staff and parents.

Participating schools were Avishayes, Buckland, Manor Court, Neroche, Redstart and Tatworth with Redstart being voted as the winning school.

School sports co-ordinator, Jason Hedaux, would like to thank the Kelly Leigh School of Dance for hosting this event.

“It was a great example of schools and community working together,” he said.
