SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: Has Chard discovered a football star of the future?

A TALENTED footballer at Chard School is celebrating after being invited into the AFC Bournemouth Academy.

Robbie Irving-Bell was chosen to join the Under-7s following a trial with the Premiership club’s coaches.

The football academy at AFC Bournemouth is developed in order to invest in upcoming football talent and provide the network, coaching and advice that each player needs to make a successful career in the game.

Chard School’s games teacher, Ann Taswell, said: “This is a magnificent achievement and we look forward to following Robbie’s success at the academy.”
