BOWLS: Certificate of recognition for world champion Ron

A MEMBER of the Yeovil Visually Impaired Bowls Club has been congratulated on his gold medal winning exploits in New Zealand.

Ron Homer won his respective men’s singles competition at the International Bowls for the Disabled World Championships earlier this year.

Fellow Yeovil club members, Nancy Cheeseman and Terry Matthews, won silver medals at the championships.

Yeovil Town Council presented certificates of recognition to Nancy and Terry last month, but Ron was unable to attend that ceremony.

It therefore gave the Yeovil Mayor, Cllr Mike Lock, great pleasure to award Ron with his certificate of recognition at last night’s (Tuesday, May 19, 2015) annual meeting of Yeovil Town Council.
