ELECTIONS: Ten candidates but only three seats in Crewkerne

THE three seats available in Crewkerne for South Somerset District Council will be keenly contested with ten candidates having been put forward.

Mike Best and Angie Singleton will be looking to retain their seats for the LibDems, while their third member, John Dyke, is now standing in the Windwhistle ward against UKIP's George Elliott and the sitting Conservative member Sue Osborne. The LibDems' third candidate for Crewkerne is Robin Pailthorpe.

Looking to break the LibDem stranglehold in Crewkerne will be the Conservative trio of Marcus Barrett, Adam Keen and Andrew Simkins.

The Green Party has three candidates standing in Crewkerne as well with Nathan Harmer-Taylor, Ben Hartshorn and Katy Limmer.

The other candidate standing in Crewkerne will be Labour's Martin Bailey.

Voters go to the polls on Thursday, May 7, 2015, for the district council elections - the same day as the main General Election.
