ELECTIONS: No change at Crewkerne Town Council

THE make-up of Crewkerne Town Council has remained unchanged following last week’s local election.

The 12 members of the council all stood for re-election and they got the votes they needed to serve the town for another four years.

Cllr Mike Best topped the poll with 1,965 votes – 321 votes ahead of second-placed Cllr Angie Singleton.

Also re-elected were Cllrs Rusty Jackson, Robin Pailthorpe, Jo Dawson, Sylvia Allman, Kathy Head, Neil Sturtivant, Ben Hodgson, Dan Wakeman, Katy Pritchard and Andrew Stuart.

It means there are 11 Liberal Democrats on the council with one independent, Cllr Katy Pritchard.

It was a disappointing election for the Green Party as they had ten candidates, but none of them gained enough support. Labour candidate Martin Bailey also missed out.
