CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Somerset award nominations for Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society
TALENTED members of the Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society have gained a string of nominations in the annual Somerset Fellowship of Drama David Beach Awards.
There were some fantastic performances during 2014 by YAOS in their two excellent productions of Sister Act and Jekyll and Hyde performed at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.
Both shows have been nominated in the Best Production category, while Northern Lights have been nominated for the Best Sound award for Jekyll and Hyde, while the Octagon team has been put forward for the Creative Lighting award for Jekyll and Hyde.
YAOS has gained two nominations in the Best Female in a Supporting Role category with Karen Pankhurst as Mother Superior in Sister Act and Naomi Riglar as Emma in Jekyll and Hyde.

Luke Whitchurch as Joey in Sister Act and Shaun Driver as Gabriel John Utterson in Jekyll and Hyde have been nominated in the Best Male in a Supporting Role category.
YAOS have also gained nominations in the Best Female category with Kat Stevens as Delores in Sister Act and Jenny Holland as Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde.
The fantastic nuns have been nominated for the Best Chorus category in Sister Act, while the super talented Kat Stevens has been nominated for musical director for Jekyll and Hyde.
The Awards Evening will be held on Saturday, March 14, at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton.
Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society will be back in action from March 17-28, 2015, with the King and I at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.
