CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Feel Better with a Book at Yeovil Library

LOOKING to enjoy a good read and meet new people?  A new reading group called Feel Better with a Book will be starting at Yeovil Library next Wednesday (November 11, 2015) from 11am to 12.30pm.

Funded by Somerset County Council and organised by the Reader, a national award-winning social enterprise, it is free to attend and sessions will be running at the same time every week.

A group spokesman said: “These friendly sessions are led by a fully trained group leader and are a great way to enjoy stories and poems by classic and contemporary writers.

“All the literature is read aloud within the group, and throughout we’ll pause to share our thoughts.

“There is no need to do any preparation beforehand and no pressure to read aloud- simply turn up, relax, listen, enjoy a tea and a biscuit or two!”

Whether group attendees are bookworms or have not picked up a book in years, members often find the confidence to share their own experiences brought out from the literature.

Friendships are formed in this very supportive group, which can contribute to a greater sense of wellbeing.

As the days begin to get shorter, anyone and everyone is invited to join the group at Yeovil Library every Wednesday at 11am.
