CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Yeovil group wins nominations in NODA awards

THE Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society has gained several nominations for the NODA South West Awards for 2014 for their fantastic productions of Sister Act and Jekyll and Hyde.

The talented YAOS had an amazing 12 months with Sister Act being performed at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil from March 11-22, 2014, and then the spellbinding Jekyll and Hyde at the same venue from October 7-11, 2014 

Now the group has been nominated for the South West Award for Best Musical Production with Sister Act, the Haselmere Award for Visual Excellence with Jekyll and Hyde.

Both productions have received nominations for the Wilfred Roe Trophy for Chorus Singing, while the NODA South West Award for Outstanding Choreography category has seen a nomination for Julie Storey and her work on Sister Act.

YAOS has also won the District Achievement Award for District Eight for 2014 for Sister Act.

Winners will be announced at the NODA South West awards night at the Bristol Marriott Hotel in Bristol on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

YAOS will be performing the King and I musical at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil from March 17-28, 2015.
