FOOTBALL: Defeat for Chard Town

CHARD Town suffered their first defeat of the season tonight (Wednesday, August 27, 2014) in Division One of the Toolstation Western League.

They went down to a 3-1 defeat at home Cribbs. Andy Martin got Chard’s only goal of the game.

The Robins will be looking to bounce back on Saturday (August 30, 2014) when they travel to face Roman Glass St George.

Chard gained a point last Saturday (August 23, 2014) with a 1-1 draw at Almondsbury UWE. Elliot Dyer grabbed Chard’s goal.

It had been Chard’s second draw inside four days following the 2-2 draw at Ashton and Backwell on Wednesday, August 20, 2014). The Robins’ goals were scored by Leigh Bailey and a penalty from Sam Clark.

Tonight’s defeat against Cribbs’ was Chard’s first loss of the season in five outings.
