CRICKET: Amazing day for Ilminster as they go top of the table

ILMINSTER Cricket Club enjoyed a classic day on Saturday (July 19, 2014) as they went to the top of Premier Two in the West of England League.

Sam Spurway’s side notched up an emphatic 243-run win over Minehead and it was virtually a three-man show.

They declared on a massive 298-1 when opener Louis Kraucamp departed for 144 in a knock which came off of 109 balls and included eight boundaries and seven mighty sixes.

Kraucamp’s fellow opener, Jonny Warry, was not to be outdone and he scored an undefeated 108 in 130 balls with 13 boundaries and one six.

Minehead had been clearly deflated by the Ilminster duo’s prowess with the bat and they were torn apart – by Harry Montacute who took a staggering 8-14.

Ian Masters claimed the other two wickets for Ilminster as Minehad were bowled out for an embarrassing 45 inside 18 overs.

The win took Ilminster to the top of the Premier Two league.
