Success followed success, medal followed medal and championship final followed championship final for Yeovil.

Not only was it individual excellence but the Yeovil relay teams gained medals in all age groups but the club’s standout team was the Girls Under-12s who swept all before them winning convincingly in both the freestyle and medley relays.

A Yeovil club spokesman said: “With more regional and national qualifying standards achieved by Yeovil swimmers it is a testament to our coaches who have taught them the skills required to compete on the county, regional and national stage.”

So far Yeovil District Swimming Club swimmers have gained 11 gold, 21 silver, 32 bronze and 156 top eight finishes.

The club spokesman added: “The skills being developed, the racing attitude, and commitment to hard work are all paying off.

“The swimmers also recognise that they are at the start of their swimming journey and their dedication to training is culminating in good results and a sound grounding that will pay dividends in the future.

“Well done to all our swimmers and coaches for their hard work.”
