Horse Racing: Top Tips from the Press for Day 1 of Cheltenham 2014

THE excitement is here once again for the thrills and spills of the Cheltenham Festival.

Day One (Tuesday, March 11, 2014) is expected to get the four-day festival off to a flying start with the first race all set for 1.30pm.

But where will your money be going? Haven’t decided yet – then take a look at the Yeovil Press’ tips of the day.

The big race of the day is the 3.20pm Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy and our tipster is going for champion jockey AP McCoy and My Tent or Yours trained by Nicky Henderson.

One to look out for, possibly, could be in the final race of the day at 5.15pm with Joe Tizzard on board Ohio Gold trained by Colin Tizzard. Might be worth an each-way bet.

2:05 – Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy: Trifolium.

2:40 – Festival Handicap Chase: Vintage Star.

3:20 – Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy: My Tent or Yours.

4:00 – OLBG Mares’ Hurdle: Quevega.

4:40 - 144th Year of National Hunt Chase: Foxrock.

5:15 - Rewards4Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase: Ohio Gold.
