Skittles: Bob Lee’s men fall three pins short of the Waggies

THE big game in Division One of the Yeovil Sports Skittles League on Friday, September 20, saw Yellow Wagtail B beat ODS by three pins to go top of the table on six points.

The Waggies looked to be heading for a comfortable win, but a second-half fightback by Bob Lee’s men saw them almost bring off a shock win, but they fell just three pins short.

Hammers recovered from last week’s shock defeat to beat Nightcrawlers by 20 pins.

Combo and Tripods are setting the pace in Division Two – unbeaten on six points – with Cretins and Nightriders also unbeaten with a game in hand.

The week’s best nomination score was also in this division with A. Northover htting a fine 59 for Yeovil SCB in their 53-pin win over Casuals.

Pacemakers are living up to their name in Division Three. Along with RAFA they both have three wins out of three with RAFA in top spot with a better away pin difference.

Mel Norris, of Game On, had the week’s top score and his 62 was mainly responsible for his team’s seven-pin win over Let It Roll.

In Division Four, VAD registered their third win to go top. Knights had their first win of the season winning by eight against Kinnells, but unfortunately have resigned from the league owing to unforeseen circumstances.

Their league results will be removed subject to approval at the next monthly meeting.

In Division Five, Flung Together and new team, Oakers, lead the way after both kept their unbeaten record with away wins over Somerset Sports and Missing Lynx respectively.

Elite and Split Pins are also unbeaten on four points.
