SCHOOL NEWS: Chard pupils going boldy where not many pupils have gone before

CHARD School is one of only four schools in the South West signed up to be part of a special space project.

The ESERO-UK (European Space Education Resource Office) Tim Peake Primary Project aims to inspire children in science, technology, engineering and maths learning in the context of space exploration.

As part of the project the children were very excited to welcome Jo Richardson, who is an ESERO-UK Space Amabassador, to the school to run a workshop for them in the school Science Lab.

In the workshop the children learned about Tim Peake and his mission and worked together to build their very own International Space Station models using a variety of materials.

A school spokesman said: “We are very proud and excited to be part of this project and the children were fascinated and inspired by the workshop that Jo ran at the school this week. They are now looking forward to the next stages of the ‘Tim Peake’ project!”
