RUNNING: Children are on the run at Holyrood Academy
IT was yet another BIG entry from primary pupils at Holyrood Academy’s first 'Fun Run' event of the year in Chard.
Primary pupils turned out in large numbers to overcome the challenges of the course, held in the grounds of Holyrood Academy.
A total of 209 young athletes - 91 girls and 118 boys from eight primary schools – took part in a cross country run around the school fields. They were led around by Holyrood students from Year 11.
The Under-9s competed over 900m and the team winners were Redstart Primary School for the girls and Tatworth Primary School for the boys.
The Under11s competed over 1,400m and the team winners were Redstart again for the girls and Redstart for the boys.
School sports co-ordinator, Jason Hedaux, would like to thank Avishayes, Buckland, Combe, Manor Court, Redstart, Winsham, Tatworth and Neroche for supporting this event, allowing pupils to experience inter school competition.
