SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: Holyrood students on Dartmoor
SIXTH-FORM students from Holyrood Academy in Chard took part in a training week on Dartmoor last weekend as part of their Gold Award in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
They spent one night camping out, navigating and walking in wild country – thankfully in fantastic sunny weather.
Head of Sixth-Form, Karen Seib, said: “This was a great practice run for the Gold recruits.
“Fingers-crossed we have such fantastic weather for the actual trek next July when they have to camp out for four nights.”
