CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Special award for Assistant Guide Leader

AN ASSISTANT Guide Leader from Yeovil has been presented with a special award.

Hayley Kitto, of St Peter’s Guides, has received the Miss Oxley Award which is given in recognition of a young woman’s commitment and determination to succeed in her role.

As well as studying for a qualification in health and social care and holding down a part-time job, Hayley finds time to be an Assistant Guide Leader at both the 2nd Yeovil St Peter’s Guides and the 1st Yeovil St James’ Rainbows as she works through the Girlguiding Leadership Qualification.

Girlguiding gives girls and young women their own space to have fun, be themselves, build brilliant friendships and gain skills.

Miss Oxley was a former Division Commissioner for Yeovil from about 40-50 years ago.
