ELECTIONS: Campaign starts in Taunton Deane

THE battle lines have been drawn in Taunton Deane – which could become one of the most keenly contested constituencies in the General Election.

The Liberal Democrats retained the seat at the 2010 General Election with Jeremy Browne gaining a 3,993 majority from Conservative candidate Mark Formosa.

Whoever wins the Taunton seat at the election on Thursday, May 7, 2015, it will be a new name representing the constituency at Westminster.

Mr Browne is standing down at the election with Rachel Gilmour hoping to retain the seat for the LibDems.

Rebecca Pow is the Conservative candidate looking to win back the seat for the Tories.

Other candidates standing will be Neil Guild for Labour, Laura Bailhache for the UK Independence Party, Clive Martin for the Green Party and Mike Rigby as an independent candidate.
