“It is really nice to finish this parliament by announcing over 1,000 successful school projects across England which will receive money to fund school building improvements,” said Mr Laws, who is Minister of State for Schools.

“I am delighted that seven schools in Yeovil will benefit from this investment and will receive over £2 million between them to improve their buildings.

“Facilities are by no means everything, but they play an important role in what a school can offer its pupils. I hope parents, staff and pupils are excited by this investment and the opportunities it can bring.”

Mr Laws will be hoping to retain the Yeovil constituency seat for the Liberal Democrats at the General Election on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
