SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: Holyrood Sixth-Form triumph in rugby tournament

THE Sixth-Form from Holyrood Academy in Chard competed in a prestigious Sexey’s School 7s rugby tournament for the first time.

After a tough group stage, which included the eventual trophy winners Marlborough College, Holyrood entered the third tier competition in which they triumphed over the hosts Sexeys 39pts-7 and then Gordano School 19pts-12 in the final to bring home the silverware.

Top try scorer on the day was Emil Szydetko with six, while player of the tournament was Connor Caddick.
