PROMS 2015: Students and parents thank Yeovil Audi for saving the day!

THE Yeovil Audi car dealership came up trumps yesterday (Thursday, July 2, 2015) when they stepped in at the 11th hour to ensure that six students from Buckler’s Mead Academy travelled to their end-of-school prom in style.

Shaun Chedzoy, Rosie Pogson, Megan Oram, Hannah Adams, Naomi Chaffin and Kayla Vincent-Seward (all pictured above) had been all set to arrive at Haselbury Mill for the prom in a “fun” fire engine.

But parents received a call yesterday – just hours before the prom was to start – that there had been a road accident and that their hired vehicle was unable to make the journey.

Months and months of prom preparation were on the verge of tatters and there would be some very disappointed students.

Frantic phone calls were made by parents in a bid to find alternative transport including fun bus and limousine hire in London and Bath.

But it was much closer to home who answered the call for help – Yeovil Audi, which is based on the Houndstone Business Park.

The Yeovil firm was able to offer two super cars to transport the students and also threw in a couple of makeshift chauffeurs, Luke and Ben, who also dressed up for the occasion.

The stress of six hours previously was wiped away as the students arrived at Haselbury Mill in style.

Now the students and their parents cannot thank Yeovil Audi enough for all their last-minute help.

Parent Kate Adams said: “Yeovil Audi were brilliant – thank you so much.”

Fellow mum Jan Vincent added: “When we got the call at midday it wasn’t good news. But we went up to Yeovil Audi and they were only too keen to help when they heard of what had happened.”

And another parent, Amanda Oram, writing on social media, said: “Just want to say a HUGE thank you to Ben and Luke at Audi. These fabulous people saved the day by arranging to drive them to the prom in their best cars. Thank you so much!”

The students echoed their parents words and were full of praise for Yeovil Audi making their evening so special.
