ELECTIONS: LibDems hold Ilminster at SSDC
CAROL Goodall and Val Keitch have been voted in to serve South Somerset District Council for Ilminster.
The two Liberal Democrat candidates polled 1,253 and 1,108 votes respectively in yesterday's council election.
They saw off the Conservative challenge of duo Sean Clarke (1,037 votes) and Stuart Shephard (1,011 votes).
Don Kinder, of UKIP, polled 689, while Peter Lansdown, for the Greens, gained 460 votes.
Paul John Sellers, of Labour, gained 306 votes.
Cllrs Goodall and Keitch have retained the two Ilminster seats for the LibDems.
