CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: Dragon boat racing with Yeovil Round Table

YEOVIL Round Table members will be taking part in this year’s Dragon Boat Racing at Sherborne Castle Fair on May 25, 2015, to help raise money for charity.

The group is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Julia’s House, the Dorset Children’s Hospice, which provides respite care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families through a dedicated team of community carers, nurses and other professionals working within the families’ own homes or at the hospice.

The Round Table has got its own fundraising JustGiving webpage at https://www.justgiving.com/YRT/ .

This year’s Yeovil Round Table chairman Ashley Helyar, of Simply Bathrooms and Bedrooms of Sherborne, said: “JustGiving sends your donation straight to Julia’s House and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer – so your donation is worth even more!

Yeovil Round Table will be looking to improve on their performance in last year’s competition where they came second by the smallest of margins in the final by just 0.5-of-a-second.

But they raised a fantastic £1,000 for Julia’s House and would love to improve on that figure this year.

Members of Yeovil Round Table enjoy a wide range of activities and help to raise thousands of pounds for charity each year. But the important thing is they have a lot of fun in the process.
