ELECTIONS: Yeovil candidates go head to head at The Gateway
THE five candidates hoping to win the Yeovil constituency seat at the General Election on Thursday, May 7, 2015, will be going head-to-head in a public debate just two days before people go to the polls.
The churches in Yeovil have organised a hustings involving all five candidates on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Yeovil Community Church at The Gateway in Addlewell Lane, Yeovil.
The debate will start at 7.30pm, but anyone wanting to put a question forward must arrive by 7pm.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “The hustings is a chance for the candidates to put forward their vision, and to hear them answer and debate questions posed by members of the audience.
“All are welcome at this unique opportunity to engage with our election candidates.”
The five candidates are (in alphabetical order): Marcus Fysh, Conservative; Sheena King, Labour; David Laws, Liberal Democrats; Emily McIvor, Green Party; Simon Smedley, UK Independence Party.
The polls on May 7, 2015, will be open from 7am to 10pm.
