SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: The Wedding Singer at Holyrood Academy

TALENTED students at Holyrood Academy in Chard have wowed audiences with their annual production.

The students performed the musical comedy, The Wedding Singer, last week from February 24-26, 2015.

Music teacher Trevor Lloyd-Jones said: “It was a terrific show. The students gave it loads of energy every performance and the music and singing was a triumph. The main characters were portrayed strongly and the chorus looked wonderful in their glorious 80s costumes.”SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: The Wedding Singer at Holyrood Academy

Drama teacher Jenny Lowe added: “The cast this year was one of our hardest working casts we have had! The amount of energy each student put into the performances was incredible! We are proud of every single performer!

“A special 'well done' does need to go to both Sam Pullen and Tiago Martins for a great final performance.”

Cast member Lorelei Larter-Webber, of Year Eight, added: “This was my first show at Holyrood and it was so great to be part of! Everyone involved was fun to be around, especially working with the older students at the school because I learnt so much from them.”

Audience members, writing in the show’s official Guest Book, were glowing with praise.

“I haven’t had this much fun since my own wedding,” wrote one person.

“I was crying with laughter,” said another. While somebody else wrote: “I’ve seen every show that Holyrood has done and this was by far my favourite.”
