ACORN Records is back! The music store re-opens today (Friday, July 24, 2015) at its new premises - upstairs at Waterloo Music in Yeovil.

The popular record store, which had been located for many years in Glovers Walk and called Acorn Music, closed in April this year.MUSIC: Acorn Records opens - again!

But Chris Lowe was persuaded to cut short his intended long and happy retirement to re-open at the new Waterloo Music store in Hendford, close to the undercover car park near Tesco.

Acorn Records, going back to its original name, will be open today from 10am until at least 5pm.

But there will be an official opening tomorrow (Saturday, July 25, 2015) with a day full of live music featuring local artists who are generously giving up their time to play.

Chris said: “There will be some great music from some very talented local musicians and I am extremely grateful to them all for agreeing to play for us.”

Chris will be joined by his long-term colleague Anna Wood and two other friends, Steve Fox and Brad Atkinson, in running the shop which will be stocked with a wide variety of CDs and vinyl albums and singles.

Acorn Music closed on April 4, 2015, after 41 years, three months and 28 days of trading.

Now after being away for three months and 20 days – Acorn Records is back!
