IT was 100 years ago today on September 3, 1914, that Private John Davis, of Yeovil, was killed in the First World War. He was a Private with the 1st Battalion of the Wiltshire Regiment and he was interred in Mons Communal Cemetery in Belgium. Private Davis’ age was unknown. His name appears on the War Memorial in the Borough of Yeovil.
