BUSINESS: Happy tenth birthday to No 5 Catering – serving up a recipe for success

THE celebrations have been underway today (Monday, July 11, 2016) as the Yeovil-based No 5 Catering food provider and diner celebrates its tenth anniversary.

It was on this day back in 2006 when owner Charlie Drake first set-up No 5 at its original premises in Waterloo Lane next to the main Tesco store in Yeovil and where he initially sold pasties.

Charlie and wife Carol then set up the No 5 Diner on the Lynx Trading Estate and they have now concentrated all their efforts there with them closing their original shop in town a couple of years ago.

“We’ve been going for ten years now and five years at the diner which has given us much more space to expand the business,” said Carol.

“When we first started it was all about the pasties, but we’ve had a natural progression over the years and the diner has helped us to provide breakfast, lunch and brunch plus much more than just pasties.”BUSINESS: Happy tenth birthday to No 5 Catering – serving up a recipe for success

Charlie got the initial idea for No 5 when he worked as a mobile windscreen repairer and his route often took him to Dorchester where he would visit a specialist pasty shop for lunch.

“I just thought that Yeovil could do with one and that is where the idea came from – totally different to repairing windscreens,” said Charlie.

“It’s hard to believe that ten years have gone by, but they have and we would really like to thank all of our customers past and present for their support. Here’s to the next ten years and who knows where we will be then.”

No 5 also provides outside catering and people will often see their vans driving around town delivering lunches to various offices offices and businesses.

All the customers popping into the No 5 diner are being treated to a free hot drink and a piece of birthday cake, while there is also ten per cent off everything bought today (Monday, July 11, 2016) only.

But if you can’t get there today – make sure you pop in and see Charlie, Carol and the No 5 team at Kingfisher Close in Gazelle Road on the Lynx Trading Estate.

The extensive breakfast and lunch menu will offer something for everyone – all at reasonable and competitive prices.

No 5 diner is open from 6.45am to 3.30pm Mondays to Fridays and from 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.
