BUSINESS: Confidential waste is the name of the game for M&J Bowers

YEOVIL-BASED waste management company M&J Bowers has secured three major contracts for the provision of confidential waste management services in the South West.

The contracts with Teignbridge District Council, Borough of Poole and YeovilCollege will see the firm responsible for the collection and destruction of confidential waste paper for the next three years.

M&J Bowers were awarded the contracts last month and are already providing the services to both councils. The contract with YeovilCollege will run from mid February.

The company, which serves businesses throughout the South West and Midlands, has managed Borough of Poole’s confidential waste for over 20 years, and was re-awarded the contract in a recent tender process.

John Bowers, managing director of M&J Bowers, said: “We’re pleased to have won the new contracts with Teignbridge Council and YeovilCollege, and to have retained our long-standing contract with Borough of Poole.

“These three contracts will see us responsible for over 100 tonnes of confidential waste each year. As the South West’s leading business waste management company, we have over 40 years of experience in managing confidential waste, with particular expertise in the public sector.

“With the number of frauds and data breaches on the rise, it’s never been more important for organisations to dispose of their confidential waste properly. We’ll be working closely with both councils and YeovilCollege to ensure that there is no chance of their data going astray.

“We supply all of our customers with secure, lockable paper shredder containers, and offer an on-site collection service which is fully tracked and monitored – helping businesses and organisations to meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act.”

M&J Bowers are a family-run Yeovil-based company and offer an extensive range of confidential document disposal and recycling services to businesses throughout Somerset, the South West, West Midlands and Gloucestershire.

The company has expanded in recent months, and has a new fleet of purpose built vehicles collecting over 100 tonnes of confidential waste each week.
