CARNIVAL: Clubs unite for party

CARNIVALITES enjoyed a Pre-Carnival Party on Friday (August 28, 2015) night at the Millennium Hall in Seavington.

Members of Carnival clubs put aside their friendly rivalries to join as one and party the night away with the Carnival Roadshow Disco – while there was also some mouse racing to keep people entertained.CARNIVAL: Clubs unite for party

Funds raised from the party will go towards the South Somerset Carnival Park project where organisers are hoping to create a headquarters in the area to be used as a base by Carnival clubs.

The project is getting good support from local councils and organisers are hopeful that their Carnival Park plans will become a reality.

Gemini Carnival Club provided the disco for the party, while Harlequin Carnival Club manned the bar and mouse racing and Eclipse Carnival Club laid on the all-important catering.

The Carnival season is fast approaching with the South Somerset Carnival Federation dates as follows: Wellington – Saturday, September 26, 2015; Ilminster – Saturday, October 3, 2015; Chard – Saturday, October 10, 2015; Taunton – Saturday, October 17, 2015.

There will also be the annual Children's Carnivals taking place in Ilminster on Saturday, September 26, 2015, and at Chard on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

These will take place in the morning.
