CARNIVAL: Annual duck race for South Petherton Carnival

THE annual South Petherton Carnival Duck Race will take place on Sunday (April 16, 2017) and the plastic competitors are going quackers in anticipation.

Ducks are priced £2 each or three for £5 and they will be available to be bought on the day from volunteers at the Brewers Arms pub in South Petherton or at the start of the course at Hele Lane in the village.

The ducks are priced £2 each or three for £5 and they will be swimming from Hele Lane from 3pm and paddling their way to the finish line at Silver Street.

The announcement of the results and prize-giving will take place immediately after the race – once organisers have verified the facts and ensured there has been no duck-duggery – at the Brewers Arms.

The first prize winner will receive £100, while second will get £50 and third will win £25. There are other prizes as well.

All funds raised will go towards plans for this year’s South Petherton Carnival which will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
