JOBS: Recruitment fair success at the Manor Hotel

ORGANISERS of a recruitment fair at the Manor Hotel in Yeovil have thanked all the businesses and around 100 jobseekers who helped to make the event a success.

Several local businesses and training providers were able to meet and talk directly with local people looking for the next move in their career at the recruitment fair held last month.

Victoria Cave, the sales and events executive at the Manor Hotel, said: “The event was very well supported by the people of Yeovil and the surrounding area.

“By providing a venue and some organisation, our aim of helping the business community of Yeovil to promote their skills and opportunities to prospective employees has been achieved.

“From our own point of view, Old English Inns are planning to interview six people to work in our hotels as a direct result of them attending the recruitment fair.

“We have more events planned and I look forward to meeting with and talking to more local business owners in the coming months.”

Red Berry Recruitment was delighted to sponsor and attend the fobs fair at the Manor Hotel. This was the first the Manor had held and it was a resounding success.

Both Red Berries came back buzzing with excitement, saying they had had such a great day, met lots of potential candidates and felt the day had gone really well. We will definitely be doing it again next year

Jobseeker Lara said: “The recruitment fair was very helpful and I am hopeful of gaining employment with Somerset Care after being given information by them today.”

Business manager at the Learndirect Centre in Yeovil, Alex McConville, added: “The day was a great success for us.

“With local service providers and local companies joining together with a common goal – to improve the employment opportunities for local people.

“We definitely want to be included in future events at The Manor Hotel.”
