BUSINESS NEWS: Local firms represented on Somerset Chamber Board

THE Somerset Chamber Board of Directors has been strengthened with the appointment of two new directors this year from local firms Red Berry Recruitment and Albert Goodman.

The recruitment agency and chartered accountancy firm both have offices throughout the county, including in Yeovil, and have been established members of the Somerset Chamber of Commerce for many years.

Helen Lacey, from Red Berry Recruitment, said: “Over the years I have seen the Somerset Chamber grow and when asked if I would put myself forward, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share my knowledge, passion for business, love for marketing and general enthusiasm for life, developing people and businesses!

“Being a local business woman, I feel that I can bring a fresh approach, new ideas and a dynamic energy to the Somerset Chamber Board. In addition, as someone who not only runs her own business but is actively involved in supporting others whilst they grow theirs, I have a strong understanding of the challenges that local businesses face.”

Charles Olney, from Albert Goodman, said: “I have worked for a variety of business types, from international businesses through to business start-ups, and most recently as head of business development and marketing for Albert Goodman.BUSINESS NEWS: Local firms represented on Somerset Chamber Board

“I believe my experience in a variety of businesses places me in a solid position to understand the support that Somerset businesses require.”

Helen Lacey and Charles Olney were both appointed to the Board at the Somerset Chamber AGM following the departure of two longstanding directors who had completed their full six year term.

The Somerset Chamber of Commerce is one of only five accredited Chambers in the South West and 52 in the whole of the UK.

It works closely with the British Chambers of Commerce to make sure Somerset businesses stay well connected at both a local and national level, and that the voices of the Somerset business community are heard at all levels of government.
