200 drivers arrested in Avon and Somerset in drink-drive campaign

ALMOST 200 drivers have been arrested for drink drive or drug driving offences across Avon and Somerset. So far a total of 180 arrests as part of Operation Tonic since it was launched on December 1. Sofa fire at Goldcroft Court

TWO fire crews were mobilised last night (Sunday) to a flat at Goldcroft Court in Yeovil. They were responding following reports of a sofa on fire in a ground floor flat. While firefighters dealt with the incident, ambulance teams were in attended to treat some residents with smoke inhalation. The alarm was raised just before 9.15pm.
Tesco Express staff get in the saddle for charity

EMPLOYEES from Tesco Express in Yeovil rose to the challenge by completing an 11-hour static bike ride in aid of the Macmillan unit at Yeovil District Hospital. Car fire at Ilchester

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to deal with a car fire at Ilchester. The alarm was raised just after 10.30am yesterday to the incident at Red Post Cross and one fire engine attended the scene. Officers found one car well alight and got to work on dealing with it. The car was severel damaged, while a man had to receive 'oxygen therapy' after suffering from smoke inhalation.
