A 55-year-old man has been jailed for six years after being convicted of indecently assaulting children.

David Byrne, of The Hill in Langport but formerly from the West Hendford area of Yeovil, was sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on Thursday (July 26, 2018) after being convicted of four counts of indecent assault on males under the age of 16.

In addition to the prison sentence, he will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order with specified conditions.

“We’d like to reassure any further victims that we will take your report seriously and investigate any offences with the utmost care and sensitivity. If you don’t want to speak directly to the police, please speak to someone.”
